CYBERBULLING
Cyberbulling
is a virtual mistreatment carried out by people who are weak and not brave enough
to ask for help and it usually happens on social media like Instagram,
Snapchat, Facebook, etc.
Cyberbulling
occurs when the bully begins to write negative comments against someone (a
victim) stalking their social media accounts and sending threatening e-mails or
messages.
Statistics show that the perfect target are teenagers and, according to Ditch The Label, victims of bullying are exposed to a higher risk of suicide with a doubled chance of implementing it when compared to the peer population.
The mains reasons why cyberbulling takes place are:
- immaturity and personal issues of the bullies;
- lack of parents control on the social media use;
- lack of responsibility when giving device to teenagers in order to entertain and baby-sit them.

Cyberbullying
has different effects: victims usually feel alone, mistreated, weak, different
from others and isolated; bullies, instead, find all this very funny and a way
to unload their repressed anger on others. Unfortunately, the consequences can
be devastating and often bullying victims come to self-harm and commit suicide.
People who
are being bullied should find the strength to talk to someone, possibly to an
adult they trust (doctor, teacher, parent, friend), in order to find advice and
take into consideration the intervention of the police.
Bullies too
often escape parental control and underestimate the consequences of their
actions. Schools and families should be more aware about this problem and take
action against this behaviour.
